  Tank Design Considerations

Locally designed and manufactured tanks for koi, tilapia and catfish industry

"Green" operation - Completely isolated with  only a supply of air required to operate completely. Pumping and aerating water at the same time

Bottom drain and all chambers flushable
Pond drainable

All tanks are isolated

Model P3 production pond

 Consider the following:

Free standing on any flat surface

Long lifetime - Plus 30 years - UV resistant durable fiber glass

Lightweight construction - four men can carry

Transportable - a bakkie or trailer is all you need

Rectangular design - occupy less space per square meter.

Rectangular design - more production space  per square meter.

Strong edges - Can be put side by side for 200mm human walkway

Bottom drain - remove solids consciously

Isolated from floor to reduce heat loss

Standing height - 900mm or 1200mm according to application

Biological filter media options available

Large flushable settlement area removes solids

All solid collection points are flushable

Slide valves for economy and saving space

Biosecure design - All tanks are isolated

Continuous flow through and level control

Biosecure design - Tanks have own life support.

Tank completely drainable

No mechanical or submersible water pump needed

No hole to dig or careful, special placement.

One-piece design

Cost saving - includes biological filter

Cost saving - include special media

Cost saving - includes high efficient airlift

Cost saving - No need for additional air pump for aeration

Cost saving - Very low power consumption

Needs only an external air supply to operate

Now available = P3 at 3440 liter
Variety of sizes 2450 liter (Q2) and 5020 liter (P5)  initially planned

Variety of uses in aquaculture as production, sale and quarantine tanks

Variety of flow rates: One tank turnover per 20-60 minutes possible

Biological filter for 100kg biomass per m3 or more possible
(depending on species and practices)

Operates on airlift principle.
Airlift requires air at 2100 liter per hour at 80 mbar for best operation

(but will operate on as little as 700 liter per hour)

Airlift pumps typical 1800 liter per hour per airlift

Low running costs of typically 35 watt per hour per tank

Very low power consumption .

Variety of media, Bioballs, StabHi stone, Fluidized bed

Low cost, specialized pH stabilizing media
Optional Level control. Optional Heater. Optional algae control
Optional UV, protein skim and lids under development

Optional water and heat energy saving design under development
Note: Patents are pending on various designs

The original experimental pond with separate filter unit and only one airlift.

Sales Hype: Compare the cost of

([AquaTank + pH-stabilizing media + filter] +air pump + electricity running costs +  space saving design)

against the

(conventional round tank + filter + submersible pump + air pump + media + electricity running costs)

AquaTank will save you thousands per year
